This weapon is better than it first appears. Using Skills that put you in Defensive Stance like Sword Ballet, not only turn all Burn damage into healing, but also Defensive Stance reduces the damage you take by 50% and increases the AP you generate from Parrying or Dodging by +1, allowing you to use higher AP cost Skills on the following turn. You rarely Base Attack as Maelle, but you could use Pictos like Double Burn, and Combo Attack I and Combo Attack III to strike more than once and apply up to 12 Burn at once with a Base Attack.,Double Burn also applies to the Level 4 "Burn on self" effect, applying 20% increased damage each turn.
