Stygian Zinogre Guide

With developer diary 4.5 Capcom introduces two new monsters to the snowy map of Monster Hunter World

Mature Xenojii’va

While Mature Xenojii’va is a siege-like boss (the first one for MHW Iceborne Expansion) The Stygian Zinogre is the foundation for the next Horizon Zero Dawn event that let you upgrade the previous Light Bowgun from the collaboration quest.

In today’s guide, I will cover the Stygian Zinogre, adding a new monster to MHW Iceborne Monster List. The upcoming guides will focus on the new Siege like a boss.

Stygian Zinogre is definitely not a new face to veteran monster hunter player. First introduce in Monster Hunter 3 ultimate. The red-black version of the Zinogre provide more deadly weapon and can inflict Dragon Blight to the hunter.

Not just the color of the lighting, the Stygian Zinogre also comes packed up with several new attacks.

Forward Lighting Strike – Instead of hurling all the lighting spere around like Zinogre, all the lighting sphere will line up and travel forward, call down lightning on the way. This attack covers a wide distance.

Aside from these attacks, Stygian Zinogre still keeps the same arsenal with those deadly slam and front paw slamming. Check out above video for the full hunt of Stygian Zinogre.

Stygian Zinogre weakness is Lighting (Yes, the original element of the Zinogre) Especially when it’s fur is all red. Aside from that, other elements don’t do much damage to this Angry Red Wolf. If you have a Blast build, you can pretty sure that it will proc a lot on this monster though.

Stygian Zinogre Armor

Not just changing the color, Stygian Zinogre Armor can easily be one of the best armor designs in Monster Hunter World Iceborne.

Stygian Alpha Armor

The Alpha version of the Stygian Armor comes with the focus on Dragon Element, as well as a bonus boost on Elder Seal – making this set a pretty viable option for hunting down those monsters that are weak to Dragon element.

Stygian Beta Armor

This bears more resemblance to Wolf than the Alpha variant. While Flinch Free

Just as the same-family monster Armor, you can combine both the original Zinogre armor along with the new pieces from Stygian Zinogre to enable Latent Secret – which will increase your defense and attack after the hunt has last for 15 minutes.
